Summer is Winding Down

Last Updated 9/2/2022in Chiloquin , Summer

August is always a month of heat, dryness and wildfires here in Southern Oregon.  Now that we are in September, the days are shortening, but the temperatures and extreme dryness haven't. We have been extremely fortunate this year after the last two years of the 242 Fire and the Bootleg Fire.  We have to learn the lessons that we were being taught by Creator in those two catastrophic events.  Fire season is not over yet, and we still have extreme potential for wildfires, so lets be vigilant, and make sure and educate the folks recreating in this area about the fire potential.  Many of them are not from country that burns this easily.  Let's finish out this Fire Season with no catastrophic wildfires in Central Klamath County.  And make sur and stay tuned for some seriously exciting things coming up regarding Community Wildfire Protection.
