Klamath County Election Information


The importance of local elections cannot be overstated, as they directly impact residents' day-to-day lives. With positions such as County Commissioner, City Council, Mayor and Sheriff playing crucial roles in shaping policies and ensuring the well-being and safety of the community, voters must make informed decisions.

Klamath County General Election Schedule

  • September 21 - Mail out military and out-of-county ballots
  • October 7 - Mail out-of-state ballots
  • October 15 - Last day to register to vote!
  • October 16 - All ballots mailed out
  • November 5 - Election Day


Registering to Vote

  • Return the mail-in registration form
  • Register in person at the Klamath County Election Office or a designated state agency, including the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Register online at oregon.gov (you must have an Oregon DMV Driver's License / ID number)


Returning Your Ballot

Ballots can be mailed or dropped off at any ballot drop box location. A ballot drop box will be located inside Chiloquin City Hall. Hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri 10 am to 4:30 pm. The last day to drop off ballots is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.


Klamath County Primary Candidate Forum – Held May 3, 2024

The forum was moderated by John Rademacher, CVIP Board President, who posed questions submitted by the community. 

The forum was sponsored by the City of Chiloquin, Friends of the Chiloquin Library, the League of Women Voters of Klamath County, and Chiloquin Visions in Progress.
