Friends of the Chiloquin Library – June 2025 Update
Summer is here, and Friends of the Chiloquin Library (FoCL) is buzzing with activity! From long-time community traditions to exciting new initiatives, here’s what we’ve been up to and what’s coming next:
🍨 4th of July Ice Cream Float Social
We’re bringing back our popular Independence Day ice cream social! This year, join us in the Chiloquin Library lobby for a variety of frosty ice cream floats. It’s a sweet way to celebrate the holiday, cool off, and support your local library. Keep an eye out for Mother Goose—we hear she’ll be making an appearance!
📚 Chiloquin History & Recipe Book – Volume 1
It’s official—Volume 1 of our Chiloquin History & Recipe Book is at the printer! After a slight delay, Shasta Litho is expediting the order, so we’ll have copies ready just in time for the Train Mountain Triennial. We’ve printed 150 copies and can’t wait to share them with visitors and locals alike.
📅 2026 Community Calendar
Planning is underway for the 2026 calendar! We’re currently gathering ideas for featured photos and would love your input. Do you have a suggestion for a cover image or know someone who might be interested in contributing? Let us know!
🎓 Supporting Local Students
Congratulations to Kira Chambers, this year’s recipient of our $400 scholarship!
🍵 High Tea Returns July 10
Join us for our beloved High Tea series, starting July 10 and continuing every third Thursday through October from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the library. This is a fantastic opportunity for adults and seniors to enjoy a relaxing afternoon of iced tea, homemade treats, and good conversation. October’s finale will feature our signature Autumn Brew!
🙋 Membership Drive
We’re still working to grow our membership. If you haven’t renewed yet, look for reminders soon—or better yet, join us at upcoming events and sign up in person. Supporting the Friends of the Community Library is a great way to give back to your community and help keep the library thriving.
